VinylVision ("we", "us", or "our") operates the VinylVision mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a limited profile (name and email) from those providers.
Watchlist Data
Your watchlist entries (artists, albums, and price thresholds) are stored on our servers so they can sync across your devices.
Scan Data
When you scan a record, the image is processed on your device using an on-device machine learning model. Only the resulting embedding vector (a numeric fingerprint — not the image itself) is sent to our servers for catalog matching. We do not store the images you scan.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not access your camera roll or photo library.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
- We do not serve advertisements.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. When you delete your account, all associated data (profile, watchlist, scan history) is permanently removed from our servers.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — for authentication (subject to their respective privacy policies)
- Discogs — for vinyl catalog data and market pricing (no personal data is shared with Discogs)
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
